Peniel Ranch

Last week my family went to Peniel Ranch with a few families from our church. What I love most about Peniel Ranch (besides that it's out in the middle of nowhere) is that there's not constant activity ... thus ... lots of time to spend with God. :D (I also love playing Apples to Apples for 1 1/2 hours every night. :D)

Here are a few pics from the trip...

They graciously gave pony rides to the children that wanted them.

                  Having our Bible study. :D

Lots of ping pong was played.
Watching a game of pool

Not another picture! :P

The elders practicing meowing like cats. :P (They did a very nice job!)
The VBS kids doing their ten commandments complete with motions.

Hatchet throwing

Playing the piano

Taking a walk...

Group pic! (I'm the one in the green shirt. :P)

We stopped at Lake Chelan for lunch at our favorite drive-in...we just had to put our feet in the water. ;)
The hill I ski on in the winter. :D (okay, so I've never actually been on that one...but I ride up the chair right next to it. :P)
I don't believe I've ever gone on this side of the mountain, but it was easier to see the chair lift in this picture. :)

It was very restful (minus Sami throwing up the first morning, a thunder storm that made us lose power and have to flush our toilets manually, and several bee stings...) and I'm sure we are all excited to go back next year!! :D

    1. Yeah, that piano was very.... weathered. Definitely better than nothing though!

    2. Yes it was! And the keys were all like...sticky or something. I don't know, your hands just felt really dirty after playing it. :P

    3. I guess that's just what happens when a whole bunch of little kids have free reign over an instrument. Which is one of the few things about being a father that I'm not looking forward to. :P

    4. haha...well, you don't have to give your kids free reign over your instrument. In our house the piano is not to be touched (except for on the keys of course) and then only after you have washed your hands. :D

    5. Yeah... weathered pianos can be a pain... I remember this one time I was barely 14 and my dad and I happened to go into a junky piano store... I started playing the 2nd Hungarian rhapsody on one of the grands and all this dust started floating through the strings! Quite epic!

    6. Cool. :P
      Wait...was the piano long?? sorry...I just couldn't resist. :P

    7. Not following you... If you're strictly speaking size, then no... Not for a grand. If you're trying to say something funny, then you're going to have to try again!

    8. Well I already noticed that. :P Unless you're following me anonymously. ;) jk
Nobody ever gets my epic joke! :P It's just that epic really means long, but nobody ever uses it that way. I always pretend that I'm reading it the "correct" way. :P I've done it to Sam on Memverse, but I guess you weren't there, so you don't get it. ;)

  3. Fun pictures! Looks like you all had a great time. :)
LOL! I had the same thought when I saw the piano, "Wow, that's banged up."
You must go skiing quite a bit! That's a dream of mine... I've always wanted to go downhill skiing. ;) (Sounds like something I would do, right?!) ;)

    1. Yes, we did!
We don't go skiing all that much. I guess compared to most peoples we might...we did get season passes this year for the first time in a couple years!! :D Yes, it does sound like something you would do...but I'm afraid you might hurt yourself trying to go straight down a black diamond your first run or something like that. :P

  4. That sounds so fun! Can you take me sometime??? ;)
Actually, you really don't have to worry about me... I've been blessed to get by with no stitches and no major broken bones. However, I have had some narrow escapes! :D My mom says it's amazing because I'm the most daring in the family... :P
I have no idea what a Black Diamond is, but it sounds like hanging on for the ride would be a pretty good idea. :D

    1. We have one extra seat in the car. ;) It would be kinda squished though... :P
Good for you! I'm not daring at all (although I'm becoming more and more that way) and I've had two broken bones in my elbow at the same time.
A black diamond is the second to hardest run. (Very steep...)

  5. Oh, seriously! I don't take up that much room! :P
Wow, how did you manage to do that?
Ooo... steep. Fuuunnnn! Makes me think of the time I tried to sleep down our hill standing up. I made it down alright, but not standing up the whole way. ;) I think I have a video of that.

    1. lol...I guess not. :P
Manage what? Breaking my elbow? I used to really like gymnastics and I was practicing a fancier trick...and I fell. :(

  6. Wow! I made it into TWO pictures!! :P (And that one of you doing Bible study looked familiar too.) Did Gracie-Asa-Cup take most of those pictures? I saw her running around w/ a camera during the trip. I'm glad you had fun on the retreat, and I'll look forward to you being there next year as well!

Yes, she took most of them.

    2. Thanks! I was pretty sure that I didn't take that one, because I would have known if you wanted to borrow it for your blog. :) (and, just so you know, you didn't have a weird face on, you were just smiling to yourself so it looked totally natural!) :) Good for Grace! See y'all later,
